Dressed for the Met
26 January 2005
P4’s Chris Naidoo stepped out in style
at this year’s J&B Met, having been
dressed by top European fashion stylist, Olivia
Davidson.
Chris, an account executive with ‘The
heart and soul of Cape Town’ P4 radio
was dressed in a simple pair of light linen
trousers teamed with a patterned shirt, designed
by Shakur Olla, and finished with a Panama hat.
Following a consultation with fashion stylist
Olivia, when the pair discussed suitable styles,
clothes, cuts and colours, Chris enjoyed an
accompanied shopping trip to some of Cape Town’s
most prestigious shops, including boutiques
at the V&A Waterfront and trendy Greenpoint.
Although the theme for this year’s Met
was fashions from the 1920’s, Chris said
he wanted to go for a more comfortable and casual
look for the occasion, so preferred the more
cool and trendy look for the Kenilworth event
.
Chris said, “I found Olivia’s consultation
very useful, I learnt a lot about how to select
clothes, what styles and colours I should be
wearing, and also what looks are in for 2005.
It was also a handy hint to try on everything
before you buy, you never really know what the
clothes are going to look like until you’ve
tried them on.
“Olivia chose clothes from Shakur Olla
that I loved, and I thought that the final look
achieved was great!”
Parisian born Olivia, who has trained and worked
in Paris and London, has recently moved to Cape
Town. She is available for consultations and
advice by appointment.
